Hawaii

Hawaii has many volcanoes that are both active and inactive. Aliso Viejo does not stay near any volcano mountain or volcano site. Hawaii contains 8 islands, surrounded by sea, but Aliso Viejo doesn't have any sea and low level of water within the city's area ( less than 0.2% nature water zone).

Not like other part of California, Aliso Viejo does not have any tourist attraction, so they cannot be compared with Hawaii. Tourism is a biggest part of the economy in Hawaii beside their pineapple productions.

The North Pacific Coast

The North Pacific Coast is wet, with the greatest average annual precipitation, and long range mountains, but in Aliso Viejo, the city only have average annual precipitation, but the city doesn't have long range mountains.
The North Pacific Coast contains different trees type such as Douglas fir, hemlock, red cedar, and much more. Most of the population in the North Pacific Coast are American Indians, Canadians, and Americans, but in Aliso Viejo most of population are American, Hispanic, and Asian.

Aliso Viejo is a city in Orange County, California. The city is a new city, it became Orange County's 34th city on July 1, 2001, the only city in the county to incorporate since 2000.

Aliso Viejo lies on the San Andreas Fault zone just like the rest of California. The city has faced so many earthquake activitiy in the past and slightly above California's earthquake activity average. Recently, there was an earthquake activity in Aliso Viejo in 1992 with a magnitude 7.6, occurred 80.4 miles, caused 3 deaths and 400 injuries, the earthquake caused $100.000.000 total damage and $40.000.000 insured losses.
The air quality in Aliso Viejo is better than California average with only 0.253ppm (Carbon Monoxide).

The Southwest Border Area: Tricultural Development

The culture, and ethnic diversity and the history of the southwest are different to those in Aliso Viejo. Even Aliso Viejo doesn't have much historical landmark of ethnic group people but the city is a home to many different races where their culture combined and made Aliso Viejo became a unique city nowdays.

According to the US Census 2010, there are 64.3 % White, 15.7% Hispanic, and 13.9% Asian in Aliso Viejo. Aliso Viejo has large numbers of immigrants from Asia and Latin America. Every year, the city set up the Founder Day to celebrate and remember to their founders who first discover and settle on this land.

The Empty Interior

The mountain ranges of the Empty Interior sweep up to 1000 meters (3000 feet) or more. In Aliso Viejo rests on the east slope of the San Joaquin Hills which only stretch over a distance about 16 miles and the hills has it maximum height roughly 1000 feet. Most land in the Empty Interior in the United States is in governmental hands. In Aliso Viejo, most land are in private owner.

Aliso Viejo can't compare to the tourist attraction of the Empty Interior because they don't have any tourist attraction like other cities in the Southern California like Universal Studio, San Diego Zoo, Disney Lands and much more. Las Vegas, Nevada in Empty Interior is one of the best place for tourist which take in over $800 million a month.

The Great Plains and Prairies

The Great Plains always has higher than normal precipitation rate when the tropical air masses move northwestward from the Gulf of Mexico, and it generally falls between April and August. Different with the Great Plain, Aliso Viejo always have low precipitation rate during April and August. Nevertheless, the Great Plain has to face with extreme weather, while Aliso Viejo doesn't face that problem- average temperature in Winter is 58F and during summer is 63F.
The Great Plains and Aliso Viejo share one common is both have to deal with tornado. Tornado in Aliso Viejo is not as strong as in "Tornado Alley". Historical recorded tornado happened in Aliso Viejo in 1966 had the max wind speeds of 113-157 mph.
Water is very important in the Great Plains. In Aliso Viejo, the water is supplied and monitored by Moulton Niguel Water who purchased 78 percents of their water from Municipal Water District of Orange County from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. The Upper Chiquita Reservoir water project achieves its goal to contain emergency storage to 31 days for Aliso Viejo.

The Agricultural Core

By looking at the zoning map of Aliso Viejo, we can see that there is no place for agricultural zone in the city. The city consider has zero agricultural products when we compare with the agricultural core of the United States. There are no alfisols and mollisols to support for agriculture in Aliso Viejo, and most of the lands are using for business, residents, and open space.
